Driftwood Kitchen opening soon on H Street – PoPville

Remember TruOrleans? Well forget about it. The space has been completely transformed and will become Driftwood Kitchen very soon. And the transformation is more than cosmetic. First of all the new general manager, Eric Tollar, understands the history of the space and intends to be a true neighbor rather than just a restaurant. The owners are the same folks behind Darna in Arlington.

Driftwood Kitchen Opens Sunday

 I was lucky enough to attend a friends and family soft opening event at Driftwood Kitchen (400 H Street) last night. The space is great, and I was able to sample some of the food and craft cocktails they'll have on the menu. I also was able to chat a bit with owner Eric Toller who explained his vision for the new restaurant.

400 H Street, NE is arguably one of the most promising locations on all of H Street for a restaurant.  Occupying a large corner spot on the west end of H Street, it is within blocks of several major apartment buildings (and many potential customers) on H Street and in NoMa.
